1. The First Company Looking for New Media People

One of Australia’s leading advertising agencies has recently won a number of high profile accounts - you’ll instantly recognise their customers. Their specialty is servicing brands in the lifestyle and youth market space. This makes for a highly energised and creative working environment.

Well…… they need a stack of new media people – NOW!

There is a mixture of Full Time and Contract positions on offer.

Full Time Positions

Technical Lead (Reference SN – 0107080)
To provide technical leadership across the entire agency encompassing production of client work and system administration. The role in the early days will be 70% hands on client projects with the remainder general technical administration and team management.
Solid skills with server side applications - an emphasis on ASP.net, database management and web programming applications like HTML, CSS, Javascript, Action scripting, XML, PHP. 3 plus years experience with supervisory exposure preferred.

Mid-weight Designer– emphasis on graphic design (Reference SN – 010701)
The work is centred on the agencies most recent and undeniably, most prominent national account. The work is mainly graphic design based but skills with new media applications would be an advantage.
The candidate should have a kick-arse folio demonstrating previous work with major brands. The position reports to the Art Director.

Senior Producer– new media emphasis (Reference SN – 010705)
The role works between studio production, third party providers, account management and the client to ensure that all project goals are achieved. The Producer is ultimately the person charged with the responsibility to deliver the final agreed result on time and on budget. The Producer should also be proactive in communication strategy development.
The role is heavily dependant on sound project management principles encompassing meticulous documentation and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse group of stakeholders.

Producers x 3– web sites for major sporting brands (Reference SN – 010706)
Do you love your sport? Do you love new media?
You’ll be responsible for delivering on the new media communications strategy across 4 major sporting brands. You’ll work with high profile sports bodies, web designers and developers to deliver world class web experiences.
If you’ve viewed the Nike.com, Commonwealth Games, Tour de France sites, you’ll know what’s ahead of you. Dynamic results updates, video highlights, competitor bio’s and stats
The role is part producer, part project manager. You’ll need to demonstrate sound project planning and documentation skills as well as an understanding of new media tools and applications.

Associate Producer – suit early career designer or marketer (Reference SN – 010707)
What a start to your career. You’ll work across major brands helping to support the activities of the Producers while being exposed to some of the best communication and creative talent in the country.
The role would suit a recent graduate or someone a year or so out. The role is in a creative environment but does not call for a designer –marketing, communications or an arts based qualification would do very nicely. The key characteristic is your ability to plan and get a job done as well as an interest in new media.

Contract Positions

The following short term contract positions are all based around a web site build for a major international sporting event. The site will contain live score updates, imbedded video, interactive Flash games and many other rich media features. The positions being sought are;

Flash Developer (Reference SN – 010704)
The role requires a Flash Developer that has experience tapping into dynamic databases and presenting the information in a web environment. The web site design will be directed by others and will not be the responsibility of the Flash developer to lead the design.
Skills in Flash programming, imbedding live video streaming and archived video into a web interface, Flash games, PHP, CSS, (X)HTML, XML, Javascript etc

Design Lead – web (Reference SN – 010703)
Lead the web site look and feel. The role requires a sound knowledge of usability and information architecture as well the design flair to make the site engage and entertain. You will be given support and design direction by senior agency creative’s.

Producer/Project Manager – web (Reference SN – 010702)
It’s up to you to bring home the project on time and to the client’s satisfaction. You’ll have an opportunity to strut your stuff with one of the leading advertising agencies in the country – great way to position yourself for a more permanent gig. Helps if you love your sport!


2. The Second Company Looking for New Media People (person actually!)

Senior Interactive Designer – advertising agency (Reference WD – 010701)

A small boutique interactive agency – a digital off-shoot of a much larger firm – is looking for a Senior Interactive Designer. You’ll require a good knowledge of technical integration with key skills in creative design and web development. Working closely with other areas of the Advertising Agency to provide an integrated approach to campaigns with an emphasis on new media productions.

You will need to know your way around management issues of budgeting, quoting, project management, working with and motivating teams and client interaction.

Key Skills & Experience

3. The Third Company Looking for New Media People (person actually!)

Flash Designer – Sydney (Reference EE – 010702)

This role for a flash designer offers an unparalleled opportunity to work on a range of highly visible and recognisable consumer websites and campaigns. The flash designer will develop digital marketing campaigns, games and campaign sites for a range of high-profile clients. Responsibilities will include conceptual development, creating visual and functional designs, the development of flash animation and related production preparation, occasional HTML and client liaison.

Two plus years experience should be adequate with a degree qualification essential in either graphic design or multimedia.

4. The Fourth Company Looking for New Media People

Web Developer – Database (Reference ST – 120601)

One of Australia’s fastest growing technology companies, and a top 250 ranked web site in the word, is seeking an experienced web developer with strong database skills to join its expanding team in Melbourne.

This role requires an interesting mix of web development and database administration skills. You will work as part of a team on a variety of internal and external facing web applications, and have overall responsibility for many of the back-end systems that drive the online business.

Experience in the following areas required:

PHP web application development
object oriented programming methodologies (especially in PHP)
relational database design
DBA experience with MySQL, PostreSQL or similar
complex SQL query authoring and optimization
(X)HTML, JavaScript and CSS
relevant W3C standards and best practices

Web Developer – Front end (Reference ST – 120602)

This role requires an individual with a passion for web standards, and the know-how to apply them successfully in front-end web development. You will work as part of a team on a variety of internal- and external-facing web applications, and have overall responsibility for the implementation of the company’s web site’s front-end.
Experience in the following areas required:
(X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, relevant W3C standards and best practices
Some experience or knowledge in the following areas is also required:
Graphic Design for the web
Unobtrusive JavaScript techniques
PHP development with MySQL databases
