French Film Festival calls for entries...

The Polly Maggoo association, organisers of the 4th RENCONTRES
INTERNATIONALES SCIENCES ET CINÉMAS (RISC) which will be held in November,
is calling for entries.
All genres of films are eligible (documentary, experimental film, fiction,
art video, animation, etc.) if their subject is directly or indirectly
related to scientific topics (including fundamental sciences, life sciences,
medicine, the environment, and social and human sciences).

ABC serious game initiative
Screen Australia and ABC TV have partnered in an initiative to support the development of three games and the production of one game.
WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
Games provide a powerful opportunity to communicate with a broad, contemporary audience, so Screen Australia and ABC TV want to give the opportunity to a range of media professionals to develop and produce a serious game.
They are looking for game IDEAS that address issues that may be in the field of society and culture, health, relationships, history, science, politics, or the environment. The game will explore this idea/topic in an imaginative, creative, entertaining and innovative way, with a strong game narrative and solid underlying educative aspect.
The creative collaboration of professionals with complementary expertise can engender an environment ripe for innovation.
They encourage multi-disciplinary teams, which might include:
1) a game studio, game/web developer, working with a
2) documentary/factual filmmaker, or screenwriter.
WHAT'S ON OFFER?
Teams will initially apply to attend a workshop from 12-14th July 2009 to further develop their serious game idea, with the assistance of international and local mentors.
Three teams will be selected for the workshop, and following it each team will receive $15,000 development funding to write a game design document based on their idea. The design documents will need to be delivered to Screen Australia/ABC TV within a two (2) month period of the workshop, along with a budget for full game production demonstrating the game is achievable for $325,000. One of these teams will then be selected to go in to full production of the game.
The completed game will be hosted by ABC online for a specified license period (see ABC License below).
The ABC and Screen Australia are in discussion with a number of other international public broadcasters to develop an international games portal to showcase serious games from the respective countries. The Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF) is one of the
largest animation festivals in the world. It usually screens 350+ films
each year in competitive, student, curated & retrospective programs. The
festival aims to challenge and inspire audiences with thematic, aesthetic
and technical diversity from award winners, outstanding industry veterans
and those wonderful newcomers who are exploring their talent on screen for
the very first time.
MIAF generates a smaller touring festival called the Australian
International Animation Festival, is the submissions base for UTS Sydney
International Animation Festival, London International Animation Festival
and provides specific programming advice to the New Zealand Film Festival.
When you submit your film to MIAF, your film is automatically considered
for each of these festivals although these other events will send you
separate and specific invitations if they wish to screen your film.
Entry is free and to be considered eligible, films should have been
completed AFTER 1 January 2007.

In short, Sportscolour is a Live Outside Broadcasting Company servicing the racing industry.
The applicant I’m looking for needs a rather broad range of skills. They need to be creative and motivated to express this in differing media. Their position will eventually require them to dabble in screen design, animation, print design, web design and technical function, DVD authoring and possibly 3dmodelling.
I need somebody who can bring a new dimension to our graphics department.
Their position will also involve them becoming part of the onsite OBproduction team as a graphics operator.

1. Enhancement of digital images – stills and panoramic
2. Creation of eBrochures and Interactive Floorplans
3. Creation of new Agent templates
4. Web development tasks (including updates of web pages, links and support notes)
5. Management of server-side space and content. Includes FTP folders and tokens, active webpages and eBrochures, proofing and email
6. Management of client-side digital files, folders and directories
7. Regular schedule of computer backups and systems administration
BASIS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Casual. Initially, no set days or hours of work – if there is work to be done, we will phone/SMS or email you either the previous day or in the morning, if afternoon work is available. We will endeavour to work around your available days and times.
Initially, all work will be carried out at Internet Pictures’ North Ringwood Office (located close to Eastland). Later, you may be permitted to produce some (if not most) of the images at your home and transfer the completed images back to us via Internet.
The primary function of the position is to assist the business owner achieve a fast-turnaround and despatch of quality digital images and Internet presentation solutions.
Pay starts at $22.00 per hour and could be higher, depending on your experience and performance. Where you have to do the work at our Office, we will pay you a minimum of two hours work.
Once you have graduated to producing our images at your home, payment will be based on a “per acceptable completed image” basis. However, some home-based work would continue to be paid on a ‘time’-basis.
These arrangements should provide flexibility as to when you fit our imaging work into your day, provided the completed images get back to us by our deadlines and are of the quality we require.

We are currently after a full time Web developer, with a minimum of 2-3 years commercial experience to work on a range of exciting Actionscript 3 projects including online games and cutting edge Flash and Flex sites.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Create complex Flash Animations, Games and Applications that are of a world class standard.
• To bring designs to life and be there to influence the design process.
• Work with and push our internal development standards and come up with new ways of streamlining our production and development efforts.
• Collaborate with a highly professional team of Designers, Developers, Account Managers to achieve great results for our clients on time and to budget.
Qualifications
• Good Knowledge of Flash / Actionscript (2 & 3) / XML / PHP / Photoshop
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming and Flash Game Development

hi all,
1 week till uni is forever finished and cam needs your help. My thesis for honours is based on virals and youtube. i want to start the viral advertising i have applied to youtube.

ok so take 2 mins out to watch these and please please please, comment on the video, give it a 5/5 and favourite it, even embed onto your myspace or sumthin if you're really narlly.
But yeh by starting off with all your comments will boost the youtube video up the search rank and thus starting the viral advert. after that it should spread.
doesnt take long and each reply i see from you guys will make me smileeeee.
now the main thing about a viral is to send it off to other people and then they send it on. this isnt gay chain mail stuff but i will haunt you or sumthin if u pay no attention to this and yeh i will take all the romance out of your life somehow.
also these 2 videos are in the chasers sledging competition, so the more comments and votes the better. could win me own show!
