hi all,
1 week till uni is forever finished and cam needs your help. My thesis for honours is based on virals and youtube. i want to start the viral advertising i have applied to youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GETxGWnwZgk
john howard is satan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhsxJ9V-kwA
kevin rudd is a posh cat
ok so take 2 mins out to watch these and please please please, comment on the video, give it a 5/5 and favourite it, even embed onto your myspace or sumthin if you're really narlly.
But yeh by starting off with all your comments will boost the youtube video up the search rank and thus starting the viral advert. after that it should spread.
doesnt take long and each reply i see from you guys will make me smileeeee.
now the main thing about a viral is to send it off to other people and then they send it on. this isnt gay chain mail stuff but i will haunt you or sumthin if u pay no attention to this and yeh i will take all the romance out of your life somehow.
also these 2 videos are in the chasers sledging competition, so the more comments and votes the better. could win me own show!
thankyou
Cam

Potential animation gig:
This came through one of my regular email lists - It sounds like a good thing to have in a reel, and it also sounds like there will be a lot of exposure - so if your bored, or not gainfully employed at the moment get crackin!
-matt
*********************
I have animation work available on a live music project.
I have several videos to make for a electronic music band for their live visuals.
Each video will be a series of loops that cover sections of a song.
Loops built to the beats and rhythms of the music. All timings provided.
Each video is based upon an icon / character that has been designed in 2D.
Animators can adapt the character into 3D, 2D, line drawing, flash or stop motion and adapt the style.
I expect most of the animation to be the character simply on a white or black background.
Budget is limited for each video but creative freedom is large.
The videos will be seen throughout Australia at large music festivals.
Animators will be fully credited in publicity.
Project due at the end of November.
Contact me for more information.
I would like to see examples of animation work.
But a good chance to do some character animation work.
Regards

short film VFX
This came through one of my regular email lists a few days ago - I have no additional info so dont bother asking! Though from reading the proficiencies that they are looking for, it seems to me like it would be a good gig to cut your teeth on VFX wise and also have in your showreel!
"Sword" is a short film about loneliness and the futility of many of the
things we do to escape it. It tells of one man's trip through Heaven and
Hell through his visit to 'The Cross' - a nightclub / hardcore-rave in a
massive cathedral.
The film will be approximately 8min duration and will be shot on HD
(although options are being examined for shooting on 4k) and finished on HD.
The shoot is planned for early 2008.
The shoot will take place entirely against Greenscreen - the environment and
associated effects will all be created digitally (out of photographic
elements wherever possible). The final look of the film will also be
heavily stylised. Because of this shooting approach, the film will require
a significant amount of planning and post production for the plates that
need to be shot.
The film is partially funded and further funding options are currently being
examined although it is anticipated that cast & crew roles will largely be
on a deferred fee basis (expenses covered) to get the highest possible
production value in to the finished image. This project is recommended for
experienced and passionate individuals seeking to gain a credit in an
advanced position on a high-quality film to showcase your work.
The producers are currently seeking expressions of interest from people with
skills in:
- Visual Effects planning and supervision
- Greenscreen extraction
- Rotoscoping
- Camera matching
- 3D modelling (architectural elements), lighting and texturing
- Compositing
- Grading
Interested parties should send CVs to sword@devjak.com

Buy my Laptop
Hi everyone,
Im selling my Macbook Pro, its pretty much brand new since I only got it in November of last year. It was a top of the line 15 inch model (2.33ghz Intel Core2Duo with 2gb ram, etc)
Its only recently, as of this month, been surpassed by the new top tier macbook pro that really offers nothing intrinsically better than my machine, other than a faster video-card and marginally faster processor - but the rampant gadget-impulse buyer in me demands that I upgrade when resale value on what I've got is still good!
I can pretty much guarantee that this machine will handle whatever task you throw at it, work or entertainment wise. And its still under the complimentary 1 year apple warranty till November, meaning you could purchase an extension of another 2 years if you wanted to.
For Ilourian co-workers, friends, and people I know the price of this beautiful peice of brushed-aluminum computing is $2500
The current low-end macbook pro sells for RRP: $2899 and is not as fast as this model of mine despite being newer!
I fully intend on jacking the price up and ripping some poor sod off on eBay if theres no takers here - but obviously I'd much prefer to hand the machine over to someone personally who I know, rather than deal with the hassle of shipping to a complete stranger etc.
Im looking to sell this baby within the next month - so theres no immediate rush, but I would like to hear from any interested parties as soon as possible!
