todays get together + Film Victoria Digital Media Internships

Unfortunately the pressures of 'the job' will keep me away from your little soirée today at Zagames - but this just came through my inbox on the interwebs - and some of you, particularly of the 'already graduated with a lot of time on your hands' persuasion should take note!

Film Victoria’s Digital Media Internship deadline closing soon!

Closing on the 11th of May, Film Victoria announces funding for 20 new Digital Media Internships. Film Victoria has expanded its support of the program in response to recent growth in the digital media industries and the 97% success rate for ongoing employment at the conclusion of the internship period.
The Digital Media Internship (DMI) program enables professional screen industry practitioners and digital media graduates to gain valuable on-the-job experience in a digital media company.

Through the 28 week placement, interns develop their craft and technical skills under the supervision of skilled personnel, as well as build their professional networks and experience. You can specialise in 2D or 3D animation, compositing, programming, project-management/producing, special FX, games development and more.

Host companies can represent a broad range of screen-industry related production including game development, post-production and animation.

For new graduates, the DMI program is a proven way for securing a job in the media industry and for those already working in the industry, to take the next step in their careers.

Applications close for Intern and Host Company applicants on Friday 11 May 2007.
